Douglas L. Hoffman, CPA, Managing Partner
Douglas L. Hoffman, who, with his staff, joined Dragon Benware Crowley & Co., P.C. in January of 2007, has been working with small family owned businesses and high net worth individuals with their estate, tax, business and personal planning for more than 30 years. He is a CPA who also has been accredited with the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Douglas has a B.S. degree in accounting from the SUNY at Plattsburgh and a MBA degree from the University of Connecticut. Before starting his own CPA firm, Douglas worked for Price Waterhouse & Co. and was the corporate controller for the Lake Placid 1980 Olympic Winter Games.
He is a member of the NYSSCPA as well as a member with AICPA. He is a partner in Adirondack Asset Management, LLC, a personal financial planning and investment management firm located in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. He is also a consultant and principal in American Family Business Center, Inc., a network organization dedicated to helping family business owners and members to navigate the complex issues and challenges of succeeding in perpetuating the family business. In this endeavor, Douglas brings his CPA experience as well as the experience of operating thirteen businesses between his wife, three children and his own entities in their family enterprises.

He was the President of the Adirondack Chapter for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) from 2005 to 2008. He is also the Treasurer and Secretary for the Adirondack Medical Center Foundation and a Trustee of his church. He was the President of the North Country Community College Foundation. He was also past Treasurer and Board Member of the Adirondack Economic Development Corp., the Lake Placid 2000 Club, the Lake Placid/Essex County Visitors Bureau and the Adirondack Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
